2013-08-11 21:30:23 -0500 commented answer Error checking while running faults in a loop

The only thing I'd add is that the `subprocess32` module has the option for a timeout parameter which would catch a class of error where the program hasn't exited (i.e. Still running) but is waiting for user input (Hung).

2013-08-11 21:27:12 -0500 asked a question Examples of problems in PDEV/ODEV output

Hi there was an answer here: https://psspy.org/psse-help-forum/question/1017/error-checking-while-running-faults-in-a-loop/?answer=1070#post-id-1070

that referenced checking PDEV and ODEV output for problems in a dynamic simulation before checking the actual simulation results.

I'm curious, what do you check for?

I love this idea, what is an example of something suspicious you'd see in the logs? < I'll ask a dedicated question.

2013-08-05 16:50:37 -0500 marked best answer What techniques do you use to track down bugs in your PSS/E scripts?

Sometimes I have difficult to track down bugs in my Python for PSS/E scripts. The solutions don't match what I expect is physically happening. How do you quickly track down bugs in your code?

(edit) I was thinking about this question: http://psspy.org/psse-help-forum/question/329/how-do-i-change-the-loads-on-psse/ It doesn't get you all the way there yet. (No reading from Excel and no changing machine data)

I saw some information about doing exactly this kind of work. I'll see if there was a script that did this already.
