Make Optimal Power Flow solutions more realistic
Does anyone have any tips that would help make optimal power flow produce more realistic flows and loading? How do you do a sanity check on your optimal power flow solution?

Here's my experience with OPF in PSS/E.
I was optimizing the shunt capacitor size and location. In OPF, I defined the candidate buses with base case plus contingencies. When OPF provided the shunt compensation location and size, I simulated the case with the shunt capacitor in place and applied the contingencies, if any, and see if the voltages would be at acceptable magnitudes per criteria.
This is a good check if the OPF "really" gave the optimal capacitor size and location.
If i dont want to use any python routine then what would be the strategy to find optiml power flow n PSSE. When I solve myt case withOPF,the solution case was blown up.

Is there any chance to shut down the output of OPF?
PSS/E OPF manual(optimal power flow)
Power flow mismatch calculation fdns
OPF: Unrecoverable error, solution diverging
API for outputting the total cost of OPF
OPF report - bounded line sensitivity
Optimal Power Flow option not installed
How can I read the value worked out by OPF calcultion?
Can i get locational marginal prices using PSS/E OPF module?
