Yes, those remote buses are tied to each other through multiple routes and a part of a big grid. So it won't likely be a straightforward seperate Thevenin Equivalent for each bus.

I'm working on a substation which has four transmission lines coming into it. I have the full grid model with around 2400 buses. Is there anyway in PSSe to get the thevenin equivalent of the four remote buses to my station? I want to model my station only with the 4 remote buses Thevenin Equivalent and the respective 4 lines.

2020-07-01 09:15:38 -0500 commented answer Change the voltage reference in REGCA1 and REECA1 model during dynamic simulation

Thanks once again perolofl! I realized that the grid's inertia wasn't set to infinite (H=0) and the frequency of the grid was dropping a little bit which was causing the droop characteristics of REPCA1 model to kick in. I changed H to 0 for GENCLS and it is tracking the Pref setpoint now. Thank you

Thank you Perolofl! Bias works in REECA1. One more question on Pref for REPCA1, when I step change the Pref of the plant, it doesn't exactly follow the Pref. I was running the plant at 80 MW and changed Pref to 0 MW at 10 sec, but the plant output settled at around 45 MW, any idea why?

2020-06-20 08:54:30 -0500 asked a question Change the voltage reference in REGCA1 and REECA1 model during dynamic simulation

Hi, Does anyone know how to change the voltage reference for REECA1 and REGCA1 models in PSSE 34.0.1? "Change V_ref" command doesn't work as that is not for renewable it seems like. I tried changing variable 5 (L - Bus reference voltage (Vref0)) during the simulation but it didn't do anything:

psspy.run(0, 5.0,1,1,0) #run for 5 seconds psspy.changevar(5,0.5) #change vref to 0.5 psspy.run(0, 6.0,1,1,0) #run to 6 seconds

I am trying to the step response by changing the voltage and power reference internal to the REECA1 and REGCA1 at 5 seconds in model instead of using a playback model. Any suggestion will be helpful. Thanks!

It seems like PSS/E V34.0.1 doesn't come with the PLBVFU1 library. It was added in V34.1 on wards. I found the library dll file for V33 but does anyone know how to get the dll file for PLBVFU1 for V34.0.1? Thanks!

I suppose "Not Accessible" means that it is no loaded in the library? What is TLBVFU1? I only had PLBVFU1. Thank you!

Yes, there is some issue in initialization. I get the following message: 5 diagonal and 4 off-diagonal elements BUS 101 [INFINITE 345.00] MC 1 USER DEFINED MACHINE MODEL "TLBVFU1" NOT ACCESSIBLE BUS 101 [INFINITE 345.00] MC 1 USER DEFINED MACHINE MODEL "PLBVFU1" NOT ACCESSIBLE

2020-06-13 22:34:08 -0500 asked a question Playback in PSS/E V34.0.1 Dynamic simulation Not working

Hi, I have a 5 bus system with one infinite machine and one type 4 wind farm equivalent generator with WT4G1 and WT4E1 models. I am using the PLBVFU1 model for the infinite machine and I also have created a .plb file to apply a step change at 1 second in the .plb file to see the response of WT4E1. There is a GSU transformer (0.8:35kV) for the wind turbine and a 35 kV to 345 kV transformer to connect to the grid. I don't see any change in my MVAR or voltage after 1 second which I was expecting to see from the playback file. Here is the .plb file content:

1,1.03,60,0,0 1.0 ,0.95,60,0,0 2 ,0.95,60,0,0

Does anyone have any idea why .plb file is not working? I couldn't find PLBVFU1 in the Models.pdf document for PSSE 34.0.1. Does it mean I don't have playback in my PSS/E library? Thank you for the help!

You can create .mon and .con files by text editor. Is there any way to use some psspy function to create these files?

2019-05-15 09:28:47 -0500 asked a question Comparing accc results from two different SAV files?

I have two sav files. One is "pre-project" and one "post-project". Is it possible to do the following: 1) Find the violations in post-project save file. ( Already done, already have the lines and buses with violations) 2) from pre-project accc, find the same buses/lines which had violations in post-project accc and report them in a csv file or text file (Need help with this)

Is there any python function in psse to accomplish this? Thanks

2019-05-12 09:37:43 -0500 asked a question Hi, Trying to use pssexcel.accc to extract all data including and excluding violations

pssexcel.accc(accfile, string, colabel='', stype='contingency', busmsm=0.5, sysmsm=5.0, rating='a', namesplit=True, xlsfile='', sheet='', overwritesheet=True, show=True, ratecon='b', baseflowvio=True, basevoltvio=True, flowlimit=100.0, flowchange=0.0, voltchange=0.0)

However, I am missing some of the buses for voltage change even though I set voltchange = 0, By setting it zero, it should give me voltages of all the buses, correct? Why is it missing some buses? Is there any other function that I can use to get all the bus voltages in excel or text file from an ACC file?

2019-05-01 08:27:36 -0500 answered a question How can you interpret a .acc file from PSSE and extract useful data?

I am mainly looking for the lines which have load flow >100% and buses with certain voltage deviations, overvoltage and under voltages. I used the "Export results to excel" tool by PSSE but it missed some buses and lines with the violations. Thanks

2019-04-30 08:39:38 -0500 asked a question How can you interpret a .acc file from PSSE and extract useful data?

I have a .acc file and it has a lot weird characters: e-g: f†?ff†? €?¶º…?¶º…?¶º…? €?q¡

how can you decode these characters? and extract data from .ACC file and store into an excel file?

I have already tried using "EXPORT RESULTS TO EXCEL" TOOL in PSSE but it misses some of the data I need. Additionally, the ACCC post processor is not very user friendly. I am thinking to write some sort of script to extract data from .ACC file.

Thanks for your guys help!
