Infinite Generator
I'm setting up a case representing an infinite generator. I assume modeling this dynamically is just as simple as having a large inertia and large damping coefficient for said generator?
Thanks

Use the classic model GENCLS, and no exciter, nor governor models. In the base case, give a large MVA to this machine and set its Xs = 0.01 or less.
The short circuit power in MVA for the "infinite bus" is determined by Mbase/Zsorce. Select GENCLS with H=0 to make the generator infinitely heavy in the dynamics (infinite inertia and constant frequency)
I have done same .. On tripping one of generator ... Initially, my infinite generator is picking up the load, however, later , that additional load is being distributed on all of remaining generators and infinite generator is going back at its initial load... whereas, I want to have that infinite generator to keep serving that deficit..
I wanted to attach the Pelectrical images for your reference.. however, website is denying by saying to "not have Karma>10"...
What is the purpose of this Xsource = 0.01 ? What is the relation between the modeling Infinite Bus and the Xsorce parameter ?
jesus...is no one else running into this problem?!?!?
I decided to post in here because my question is relevant: "How do I model an infinite bus?" To be more exact, I need to model many infinite buses so "How do I model a number of infinite buses in a case?" I am asking in both load flow network data and dynamic model terms.

Error and suspect during initialization
load change, machine during dynamic simulation
Thanks jconto, the damping and inertia coefficients should be large though correct?
Yes, that is correct.
The damping factor shall be zero!!!!!
