I am trying to open a file ".sav" with less than 50 buses but the program fails to open it and send two alarms: "exceeds the dimensions of working memory" and "New size of case exceeds the size allowed by PSSE Xplore".
Which are the limits of PSSE Explore besides the numbers of buses?
As @chandv wrote, open savnw network. The limits of the current version is shown with menu: "File - File information - List the number of system components".

It's not only buses, but all other components such generators, loads, etc. are limited to different dimensions. If one of the limits is exceeded, such messages may come. You may try opening inbuilt cases such as savnw.sav to check.
