How to simulate secondary frequency control in pss/e

Hi,

Thank you for looking my question.

I used some cases which equipped with governs and have carried out some simulations. I observed that the after disconnecting the load/generator, the frequency response in my case is the result of the inertial response and preliminary control, since the frequency never goes back to the initial value and stay at somewhere else.

How can I simulate the secondary frequency control in pss/e, to increase the output of synchronous generators reasonably then make the frequency go back to the initial value?

sorry to ask the basic question. Any help would be appreciated.

Model LCFB1 can be used for secondary frequancy control of a machine. It is called as a Turbine Load Controller model, updating the power reference of the governor model.

You need build AGC model in PSS/e as well. However, PSS/e is not designed for AGC simulation and most governors have only a primary droop control. I once tried GGOV1 model, which can receive a supervisory MW set signal. So it is possible to link your AGC output to Pmwset of GGOV1 model to achieve AGC simulation. But it is still not very convenient. MATLAB is more suitable for AGC simulation.
