Renewable Plant Modeling - Solar PV - Wind

At my Google Drive site, I posted "REwind_v33.zip", a data set to simulate a Type 4 wind plant with PSSe v.33 (or v.34). The RE Wind plant simulation demo models a 100 MW Type 4 Wind plant, using model REGCAU1 family of models

A Guideline to model renewable plant, by WECC, with Wind model parameter data can be found at: https://www.wecc.biz/Reliability/WECC...

This set-up can be easily updated to model Type 3 wind or Solar PV, by changing the RExx models.

A similar data set "SolarPV_PVGU1.zip" is for modeling Solar PV using model PVGU1.

I want to simulate dynamic power system response when having wind speed step change (ex: range of wind with 15 m/s at (0-5) s, 0 m/s at (5-10) s and 15 m/s at (10-20) s. Can you help me how to simulate in PSSE 33 with model dynamic? I'm looking forward to your help.

I simulate Bess Model . Message from PSSE " BUS 3018 [CATDOG_G 13.800] MC 1 USER DEFINED MACHINE MODEL "REECCU1" NOT ACCESSIBLE" . Share me how to fix it. I think need load .dll, but i dont know how to create it?@jconto

Add model REECCU1 to the dyr file for the BESS machine.

i use a sample file in your google drive " savnw_RE_battery" . I saw REECCU1 in this file. But when simulation show " Message from PSSE " BUS 3018 [CATDOG_G 13.800] MC 1 USER DEFINED MACHINE MODEL "REECCU1" NOT ACCESSIBLE"

In the demo set "savnw_RE_battery" the REECCU1 model is assigned to machine 2 at bus 3018. The script "BESS_RE.py" runs fine inside the PSSE GUI (v.33 & v.34, using python 2.7). In your test, it was assigned to machine 1. Also, a BEES machine has to be declared "a wind machine" in the load flow.

Hello, thank you very much for sharing, i want to ask, when i running simulation IEEE39_RE, there are some notification, networked not converged at specific time, but when i check all the parameter based on WECC, value of parameter still same, do you guys have some problem?

link

Comments

"networked not converged" messages appears during the duration of a fault and maybe for a short period post-fault. Other than that, such messages may indicate the model(s) in use are misbehaving or the network is close to collapse.

Hello again Dr Jconto, do you have an example fortran code from dq to alpha beta transfrormation for simple basic PI converter?

ramadhan gravatar imageramadhan (Sep 25 '3)

Unfortunately no, I do not have a public fortran code on dq transformations.

Hello, thank you very much for sharing. I want to ask, in "SolarPV_PVGU1.zip" is there virtual inertia or not?

link

Comments

Not a virtual inertia machine. PVGU1 is a simple inverted type generator based on a WT4 model, with no features for frequency response.

Hello! Dear Professor, I download your nordic44 test system. I read the paper , I would like to know what version of your Nordic44 test system is. If you do not mind, can you give me some references about it. I guess your version is NTNU ? Thank you very much!

The IEEE39+RE_jconto data set is for PSSe v.33. I have saved the case with REs (produced by the script MAKECNVSNP_RE.PY) to "ieee39_RE.sav", which can be loaded into v.34 as well.
