Example of user-written dynamic model?

I am currently learning PSS/E and need to make my own emergency control schemes for some analyses', and thus need to create my own dynamic models. More precisely I need to make HVDC Emergency response schemes and possibly look at battery and/or flywheel energy storage. I have been reading the guide (POM Chapter 21 Model Writing and parts of PAGV2 Chapters 12 and 13 about dynamic simulations) but have not become significantly wiser in how to start. There are so many steps to follow.

From my understanding I need to write a Fortran or Flecs file and compile it to a usrdll which I put in the PSSE installation folder. However, the detailed steps to get there is hard.

Does anyone have any example or step by step guide to get started? It is so much easier to follow the documentation if I can just relate it to a practical example.

Other tips are much appreciated.

Check the post "User Defined Model Development" for an example for PSSe v.33 or search for similar topics with keyword= 'UDM'.
