IEEE 39 BUS DYNAMIC SIMULATION IN PSSE

HI

I am trying to rum dynamic simulation for IEEE 39 bus system but the RUN button is grey and inactive. Can some one provide a manual or the source file for this type of simulation. I really need it for my project to verify my results. Any help is highly appreciated.

The following link will takes you to my google drive public folder "PowerSystem", select "Dynamic Networks" which contains the IEEE39 system. Click on the zip file icon, and then click on the downloading icon on top.

The zip file contains my version of a dynamic data set for the ieee39 case, with governors and pss models (not included in the original) and made changes to the Genrou model to match zsorce values in the case. The ieee.err file is the progress window output as the 'no-disturbance' test is applied. Other data file are the conl.idv to convert the load, channels.idv to define the channels and adjustparam.idv to change run settings.

It seems that something is wrong with the model since it does not converge without any disturbance with default integration step 0.01s, but converges with the step 0.001 ... probably the problem are some time constants in the model...

Power system simulations are typically done with 1/4 of a cycle (=0.004166 sec) integration step. And lower time step are recommended if inverter-based models are used.

Can we run dynamic simulation And Export PSSE Results to Excel without using Python ? like exporting results (voltage and frequency, etc ..) to Excel ?

You can use PSSPLT, the plotting tool in PSSe. Run PSSPLT, open an *.out file, and then 'PRNT' those channels (V, f, etc.) to a file. The file created will be in space-separated format. Excel can read it!. Help on activity 'PRNT' can be found on the PSSPLT manual.

I've tried those files and it did work. Do you have any problem using those files? If you don't mind, please tell me about it and we'll figure it out.

When I simulate a bus fault and even when I clear it after 0.0001 sec. the rotor angle keep increasing. If it is not the same for you, that would be great if you could upload a video about it.

oh, because the files I sent you doesn't have governor models, so maybe speeds didn't come back to 1 pu after disturbance even when system has reached another steady state. Sr about that. I got another version of NE dyr files, but I don't have permission to send you.
