I have a two bus system connected through an inductor and I want to solve the system. Bus 1 is a swing bus with a given voltage (magnitude and angle), Bus 2 is a load bus with a given voltage (magnitude and angle), and the inductor value is given.

I can use psse to solve other examples if:

load bus - real and reactive power is given

swing bus - voltage magnitude and phase is given

generator bus - voltage magnitude and real power is given

I was wondering if I can still solve this example using psse without the usual parameters, given that there is still enough data available to solve the problem.

What is the meaning of "without the ususal parameters"?

the usual parameters for each bus is as follows: load bus - real and reactive power is given; swing bus - voltage magnitude and phase is given; generator bus - voltage magnitude and real power is given;

I don't understand the question. The load flow is already solved if the voltages (magnitude and angle) are known. In your case it is easy to calcuate the line flow since the bus voltages and the line reactance are given.

It is just to enter the two buses and the branch into PSSE. Do POUT, GOUT or show a slider diagram to see the line flow calculated by PSSE. There is no need to solve since the voltages are given, i.e. calculated by somebody else.

ok I understand now. After using the slider diagram the calculations showed up. Thank you very much!
