Reloading PSS/E slows down simulations?

Hello,

I have been running simulations where I do a parametric sweep to vary some parameters for each simulation to plot the effect of these variables. An issue I encounter is that later simulations run significantly slower than early simulations; the first set of simulations finish in ~3 hours, while the last set of simulations never manages to finish.

I run the same script to initialize PSS/E each time. Is this wrong? Do I need to close the previous PSS/E process or something similiar before starting a new one? I have checked the memory usage of my account on the server farm I am connected to, and it is stable at 150-250 MB. Processing power is also at 1-2% so I can't see any obvious changes here as time goes on.

What could be slowing down my simulations?

Thank you.

Cannot vote yet, so here's the comment: +1 with the same problem.

Running an optimisation algorithm to iteratively change the model's parameters. First ~1000 runs are smooth and pretty fast (<0.5s), and suddenly the simulations start taking around 3 to 5 seconds. No CPU or RAM limitation, in my case.

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot!

Best, Nuno F.

Maybe the number of iterations is affected by the parameter change!?
