Dynamic Corridor Limits
Good Morning Everyone, I'm a long time lurker first time poster.
I am working on dynamically rating the transfer limit of a transmission tie based on a number of different criteria;
- Generation Profiles. Every generation profile results has a different transfer limit I have 6 generators in my subsystem my swing bus is in the other subsystem so I am not worried about generators on the other side of my tie. But even so there are a lot of different generation profiles to study.
- Contingencies. Each generation profile has to have N-1 Analysis done on it.
- Then thermal rating. I have developed a calculator which gives me the thermal limit of each or my transmission lines using the process outline in IEEE Std. 738 -2012.
Does anyone do anything like this in their system? Frankly there are so many moving parts I’m mostly just curious if people have tried to do this as well as how they have create any kind of useful tool for other users to find the actual transfer limits.
