I want to insert a braking resistor in a single machine infinite bus system to see the improvement in transient angle stability. As there is no specific model for braking resistor in PSS/E,can I use a load with circuit breaker for that braking resistor model? But I can not connect a circuit breaker then a load from one bus in PSS/E.Do I need to add one additional bus to connect the circuit breaker then from that bus to the load.

2.Anyone suggest the way to to connect/disconnect the braking resistor model in PSS/E manually.

3.Suppose for a system the pre fault condition is for 1s and then the fault is initiated ,how could I insert braking resistor considering activation time of 60ms . Do I need to go back to .sld/.sav file from perform simulation window and connect the circuit breaker and then run it at 1.06 sec ? I wonder if I can do that. Later the fault is cleared how do I disconnect the braking resistor in order to keep the generator synchronized . 4.If I model it like ,create a bus (bus type code-1)near the generator bus to connect the circuit breaker and then connect the restive load (For Braking resistor) and when I do the power flow keeping circuit breaker not in service first I got an error as here under Messages for api FNSL Topology error: 1 bus(es) with bus type code and series element status inconsistencies (000495). Could you please clarify the same how to proceed with this.

Any help? Thanks in advance

You don't need any extra bus or circuit breaker. It is only to switch on the load at the generator bus with the status flag and then switch it off again at a proper time in the simulation.
