Changing Base Frequency in PSSE

I have a question We know that in PSSE, base frequency can be changed from 50 to 99 Hz. Is there a method to change frequency beyond 99 Hz via routines written in python ????

What is the purpose of chosing anything else than 50 or 60 Hz for the base frequency in PSSE????

Many train electric system used to operate at 16 Hz. At our shop, to perform system frequency scan studies (looking for network resonance) we prepare network models from 1 Hz to 120 Hz.

Changing the base frequency option will not change or update the network parameters. You will still have the same reactance and admittance since PSSE is using pu data. The only way to model another frequencies is to recalculate all data with Python or Iplan.

Base frequency is just an information to the user about which frequency has been used to calculate X and B. If base frequency is properly set the line charging is shown in microFarad when ohm option is used. Frequency scanning studies cannot be performed by changing the base frequency only.

perolofl, you are correct. I want to clarify that a new case is prepared scaling all impedances in the network model to the target frequency using a python script. Most of PSSe activities (load flow, reporting) can be used at any frequency.

To change base frequency, we use commnad: psspy.base_frequency( 99.0) But I don't think we can apply an over 100 Hz in PSSE.
