Renewable generic model problem in dynamic

  • retag add tags

Hi everyone, I have initializing question about renewable in dynamic simulation.

In my case, I build a PV plant which using the machine control mode "Fixed Q based on WPF". The voltage at machine side is 0.97 p.u. under power flow solution.

In dynamic simulation, I use PVGU1 and PVEU1 as this PV plant's model. When I initialize the case, The initial condition of this machine's voltage at machine side becomes 0.79 p.u., which cause the initial condition suspect I guess.

I don't know what and why cause a such voltage deviation. Please give me some advise, thank you.

There is no message from model PVEU1 before the machine list?

No, there is no message show any conflict.

Is it happening during CONG process? May check ORDR, FACT, TYSL convergence. If grid is modeled as GENCLS, pl also check its parameters.

No, just some type 2 bus which has no plant and then set to 1. There is a message during TYSL, but the machine it show is far from this PV plant. By the way, my case is a complete real system, instead of a simple system, so sorry that I can not give more detail information.

I just tried a example case called "solarPV_v33", which I think it was provided by jconto before. It has the same situation that the PV plant bus 3018 voltage is 1.02 p.u. under power flow solution, and after initialize, the voltage become 0.97p.u..

I found that it has a large Q mismatch at bus 1 which is PV plant's generator bus. I think this is why I have a large voltage deviation. Does anyone know how would cause a large Q mismatch in initialization?

There might be a limitation of Q or reactive current in model PVEU1.
