I am new to this forum and new psse user trying to simulate motor starting. I have the induction motor already in the system the initialization is done successfully and the system is working properly. However, in the instance I am switching ON a motor during the running of the model, not is happening. The power output of that motor is always showing as '0'. I tried adjusting the time step to 0.001. Confirm that Mbase was defined and Tnom is > ‘0’, which is 0.9.

Not sure what i am missing, but i start out with initialize and ran for 1s before switch ON a motor. Finally ran for 10s. Please help.

Which dynamic model are you using?

I am using CIM5BL type 1 dynamic model.

How did you start the motor?

Hi Perolofl, Unless I did it wrong. First, I initiate with plant (aux load) and then flat start for 1s. Once that is done I switch ON motor in dynamics modules and in power flow and run simulation to 10 seconds.

What do you mean with plant? CIM5BL is a load model. Initiate with load out of service. Switch load status to 1 at 1s. The dynamic model shall be enabled (in service) already at initialisation.
