I installed the trial on my computer, no errors during installation, but on my first attempt tu run, I get the error message "Exceeded licensed core limit of 32 (72 available on machine)". What can I do to run the PSS/E Demo? My computer configuration is the following: Processor Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6154 CPU @ 3.00GHz 2.99 GHz (2 processors) Installed RAM 256 GB (256 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Edition Windows 11 Pro for Workstations Thank you for your support!

Siemens deliberately introduced a computer core limit in PSS/e version 34 around 2020/2021. That limitation appears to be artificial but they introduced a software check in version 35.

They offered a free "high performance" license that increased the limit to 128 processors last year but since then have rescinded all references. In turn, they've also dramatically increased cost of the software and maintenance and support.

I'm really frustrated with Siemens because I asked about the "high performance" licenses and they said it's no longer offered even though their support site said it was free for 35.5.x. They removed all references on their support site shortly after I asked.

That is really awkward... (to limit by license the performance of the processing, if the machine itself is able to do more) I thought that only the demo version has these limitations for some reasons. Thank you, this info helps me to better asses the evaluation!

@amin76mf: Thank you for suggestion! I found a simple solution that works for me: Open msconfig (Start, search msconfig) then select "System Configuration". Select the "Boot" tab, then "Advanced Options" button. A new window titled "BOOT Advanced Options" appears. Click to place a check in the "Number of processors" box click the drop-down menu below the box, and select a number. Save and reboot. This will limit the total number of processor/cores available for the system.

Hi! I think this way your whole system would be limited and you will not use all your cores for other programs as well.

Hi! I had the same problem and for me, it didn't even let me finish installing. I installed a windows OS on Hyper-V of my main Windows and limited the cores to 32.
