2021-06-17 20:43:17 -0500 asked a question Are there any methods to improve the speed of batch dynamic simulations?

Hi, everyone!

I wrote codes in python to looply call PSS/E dynamic simulations. But the speed is not very fast. It took me about 9 hours to obtain 100 samples. When I tried to increase the simulation step, it can not obtain correct results. So the maximum of simulation step can only be 0.01s. Therefore, i want to ask if there are any methods to speed it up.

Thank you for your help! I would appreciate it very much!

2021-06-09 07:17:03 -0500 asked a question no dongle or license was found for this product

Hi, everyone!

There are some problems with my computers today. So I had to set up PSS/E again. But after my set-up, an error popped out: No dongle or license was found for this product. Please connect a PTI-supplied dongle or install the appropriate software/network license.

I don't know how to deal with this problem. Please help me!

Thank you very much!

2021-06-05 02:24:54 -0500 asked a question What are the proper parameters of SEXS excitation model?

I found a set of parameters of SEXS excitation model in a thesis. But when I put them into PSS/E, it turned up some warnings about the settings as follows. But I don't know why these warnings showed. I wondered what the proper range of each parameter is. Please help me with this problem!

I would appreciate it very much!

Parameters of SEXS: TA = 1; TB = 4.0 K = 200 TE = 0.02 EMIN = -4.6000 EMAX = 6.0

2021-06-02 07:16:03 -0500 asked a question Why does the rotor angle become such a large value like -1000 degrees in dynamic simulations after load change

I changed the load in dynamic simulation recently. But I found that the rotor angle changed from 1.3 degrees to -1000 degrees. How can I transform these values into per-unit values? Please help me with that problem!

Thank you very much!

Hello, everyone!

I want to ask what is the reference value of the output speed when use psspy.chsb function. Can I choose the reference value on my own? Or what is the norminal value? Please help me with this problem.

I would appreciate your help!

Thank you!

2021-05-25 08:19:05 -0500 asked a question how to get pure data without titles in .txt out files

Hi, everyone!

I used the following code to output the results of dynamic simulations:

output_obj = dyntools.CHNF('D:\python_test.out')
output_obj.txtout(channels=1)

But the output txt file looks like this:

D:\IEEE 9\python_test_1.out
IEEE 9 BUS CASE - 3G - 3L
                     1
        Time(s) FREQ 1 [BUS1 1
                        6.500]
     -0.0166667 0
    -0.00833333 2.70645E-11
              0 1.99895E-11
              0 1.99895E-11
     0.00833333 2.41407E-11
      0.0166667 -0.000255582

I have to delete the title manually and then deal with the data. I wondered if there is a method which can output pure data without title. So I can deal with the data directly in python. Any other better methods to output the results of dynamic simulation would be great as well.

I would really appreciate your help!

Thanks a lot!

Recently I used loadchng4() function in python to change loads during dynamic simulations. But I don't how to change loads directly in PSS/E, without python. Could you help me with that problem?

I would appreciate your help!

2021-05-24 21:22:38 -0500 asked a question Does anyone have IEEE 9 and IEEE39 dyr files?

Hello, everybody!

Does anyone have IEEE9 and IEEE39 dyr files?Recently I set tripping-machine faults in my IEEE9 file. But the frequency response curve seems incorrect, for it keeps falling down until the simulation process ends. It seems like the primary frequency regulation module does not work. I guess the dyr data, especially for the turbine governor, is not rational.

I would appreciate your help.

Thanks a lot!

yes, dyntools work. I tried txtout instead of csvout and it works. But I don't know why can't csvout work.

I looked up the function information of psspy.conl() in API manual. But i don't understand the meaning of subsystem in 'Integer SID' term. Is it the same as the meaning of Zone number in sav file?
