2022-03-02 03:20:07 -0500 | asked a question | Energy storage system active power output delay Hello everyone: I knowed that the power output of energy storage system in PSS/E is according to the value set in fdbd, but is it also related to the time when the system inertia ends after N-G fault? Because during the simulation, I found that the energy storage system seems to start to output active power after the inertia response ends. Is this because of the limitations of the three models of REECA, REGCA, and REPCA? Or is there something wrong with my parameter setting? Sincerely, thanks. |

2022-03-01 07:46:27 -0500 | asked a question | PSSE Trip generator Hello everyone: Now, I'm try to simulate a system with some fuel generators and one ESS. When I simulate N-G scenario with only two generators, the ESS and the other generator has abnormal response especially ESS. The ESS has about 1sec delay in this scenario. But it doesn't happen when the three generators are turned on and occur the same scenario. It make me quite confuse. Please can someone tell me why? Is this a limitation of PSS/E software? By the way the generator models which I used are DEGOV1, GENSAE, AC7B. The ESS models which I used are REPCA, REECA, REGCA. After observation, I found that the energy storage system will not start real power until the inertia of the generator is used up. Is this correct? Sincerely, thanks. |

2021-12-08 18:30:46 -0500 | commented answer | REECA P and Q step test Thanks for your advice. I've try to set VFlag=1 and QFlag=1, but I still doesn't work. By the way the KP and KI for reactive power I set 0.75 and 2.5, Is it too small or not enough? |
2021-12-08 07:12:58 -0500 | commented answer | REECA P and Q step test Is there any other flag that I should notice? |
2021-12-08 07:10:53 -0500 | commented answer | REECA P and Q step test Yes, thanks for your help. I set PFFLAG = 0, FFLAG = 1, RefFlag = 0. |
2021-12-07 18:18:16 -0500 | commented answer | REECA P and Q step test Yes. I have tried again to test the Q step and P step. Then P step is success, but Q step still failed. I tried the Q step test by changing "Qref" parameter in REPCAU1 this model's VAR(L+1), but it still doesn't work. Could you please tell me is there any mistake? |

2021-09-08 19:48:13 -0500 | commented answer | How to get REPC model's VARS parameter? Which "status" I just key in the first VAR of the model that I've got by "psspy.windmind", and the "ident" I just key in a space, like ' '. The result of PSS/E just print "Invalid VAR index: <omitted value="">; value must be in the range 1 through 250000 (002502)". |
2021-09-08 19:36:48 -0500 | commented answer | How to get REPC model's VARS parameter? I've try to use "psspy.var_channel" to get the VARs value. First, I use "psspy.windmind" to get first VAR of the model. Then, I use "psspy.var_channel(status, ident)" to get the VARs value. |

So, if I add a fault in 1 sec, and clear fault in 0.2sec, final run to 20 sec, I can just get 1 sec's VARs, 1.2sec's VARs, and 20 sec's VARs, is it correct? Can I use "psspy.var_channel" to get the actual value of the VARs? |
