2022-09-02 03:12:33 -0500 asked a question PLL function in WECC generic model

In WECC generic models, PLL transients are ignored. The PSSE model REGCA1 includes wind turbine generator aspects associated with handling of variations in voltage angle. In this model converter control functions are represented using simplified features for regulation of both real and reactive current. REGCA1 model receives real and reactive current commands from the electrical control model (REECA1). The internal voltage source is then referred back within the network solution, where the terminal voltage is referenced to the swing bus in the load flow. The phase locked loop (PLL) function is used to synchronize the phase angle of the generator with the terminal voltage phase angle. As Figure 8-1 indicates, WECC renewable energy generator/converter model does not have detailed control functionality related to PLL and model assumes perfect synchronization of the phase angle of the generator with the terminal voltage phase angle. Therefore, WECC generic model does not capture the actual WTG response to the voltage angle changes. Any inputs on this ?

2020-10-10 07:58:42 -0500 commented answer machine modeling in steady state for solar inverter

Thanks for the reply. I know the maximum converter current limit of the inverter. Eg. 1.068 pu. Can i define all the impedance parameters as 1/1.068 = 0.9363 pu ?

In PSSE, while modeling solar inverter as a machine for steady state. How do you define the parameters like X source , Subtransient,Transient,Synchronius, Zero and Negative impedance while modeling ? What values to be considered ? Thanks in Advance

2020-09-09 09:05:49 -0500 commented question Critical Clearing time calculation

The query is , whether the above methology is correct to find critical clearing time in PSSE. How the critical clearing time is computed in PSSE ?

2020-09-09 07:31:09 -0500 asked a question Critical Clearing time calculation

For computing, critical clearing time for generating station in a grid network. I am applying bolted fault at generator bus in an iterative manner until the angle of the generator fails to reach its pre-fault value i.e. loses synchronism. The generator speed also reflects the same in the simulation. Any other factor to be considered for evaluation ? How does critical clearing angle comes into picture in this process ? It was also observed that even if generation in the nearest generators is varied in load flow. The ciritical clearing time still remains the same , Any observations in this regard ? Thanks in advance

Thanks for the tool. Can you share the redirect module please. I'm getting error of no module named redirect for the dmview.py file and TOOLS\FS.py file.

The slope setting in PPC operating in Voltage control is reflected by which CON value/s of REPCTA1 model? eg. if the slope setting is changed from 0.1 to 0.05 in PPC at site, how to reflect the same in PSSE. Thanks in advance
