2020-11-30 04:02:24 -0500 | asked a question | Bad unit number (RWFIL) error during dynamic simulation I was running a dynamic simulation for sometime (with disturbances) and I got the following error in the output bar: "Bad unit number FilenameLocation.outx (RWFIL)". What does it mean? The simulation continued running, but I am concerned if this affect the results. Does it make the results from the point of that error not valid? It is also worth mentioning I am using the XPLORE version34 of PSSE and not sure it is related to any limitation to the free version. I am wondering if anyone has heard of this error, knows the cause and what the solution (if any is). Thanks! |
2020-11-30 03:58:34 -0500 | commented answer | Environment Manager doesn't detect PSSE version error Thank you! I tried re-installing PSSE, I believe there was an error with the installion before. I tried running the EM but now there was an issue about Python directory. Could be related to having more than one python version installed? |

2020-10-29 15:50:18 -0500 | asked a question | Environment Manager doesn't detect PSSE version error I am trying to convert my UDM from the Flecs code into a DLL to be used in PSSE (this is the first time I am doing this). I found in PSSE documentation reference to the Environment Manager (EM) exe. However when I tried running it I get an error saying the PSSE version cannot be read. What would be the solution? I am using a student version and before I could check the version, but recently whenever I tried to do this PSSE crashes. I believe they could be related. Has anyone come across this issue before? If yes, what would you suggest I try? |

2020-01-22 10:30:04 -0500 | asked a question | Type 4 Wind generator model (first generation) why isn't the fault current limited to 1.7pu? I am using the the Type 4 wind generator modes WT4G1 and ET4E1 with the WECC parametrs. I have the ImaxTD at 1.7 pu, however when I apply a 3 phase fault to my network, the output on the bus of this type 4 generator the current is capped at just below 2.5pu. Has anyone had any experience modelling this type of generator and could explain why this is happening? Thanks. |
