Thank for your comment. I found the sample.sav including the data of 2-Term DC (point to point), VSC-DC (point to point) and N-Term DC (multi-point). However, it seems that the N-Term DC is the mult-terminal of LCC technology but I want to perform a study of multi-terminal of VSC technology.

Hi Everyone,

I would like to know whether PSS\E can perform the load flow and transient stability analysis for a power sytem with multi-terminal HVDC with VSC DC link ?

Thank you so much!

Hi Everyone,

I have performed a dynamic simulation using a simple SMIB system to investigate the change of voltage after switching a shunt reactor into the system.

However, the bus voltage cannot recover to the original voltage level (ie. 1p.u.) as shown below:

Is there any possible solution to make the bus voltage to recovery to a desired voltage level ?

if I desire to use the four models: GENROU, EXST1, IEESGO and IEEEST for the generators, is there any method to increase the generator voltage output as well as the bus volatage ?

Thank you so much!

Hi Everyone,

I want to do dynamic simulation on the energization of generation transformer to investigate the effect of energization on system voltage.

  1. Could PSSE be used to do such dynamic simulation?
  2. The model data for a transformer used is shown in the following , I don’t know if the model could be used for dynamic simulation.

http://www.dropbox.com/s/3a3nnn3wj727e01/IMG_7636.JPG?dl=0 (www.dropbox.com/s/3a3nnn3wj727e01/IMG...)

  1. If not, could other elements (e.g. shunt reactor) be used to substitute the simulation of generation transformer?
  2. How to determine the parameters of the substitute element for simulating the energization of generator transformer?

Thank you so much!

2019-05-20 22:28:08 -0500 asked a question How to perform transient stability for HVDC

Hi Everyone,

I am a fresh user of modelling HVDC in PSS/E. I was wondering if my procedures of running the transient stability listed below are correct or not. Are there any additional step(s) required for HVDC LCC\VSC technologies?

1) Add the steady-state DC Line Parameters and steady-state converter parameters of the HVDC lines to my .SAV case

2) Run the load flow

3) Add the transient model parameters including the model of HVDC lines (e.g. CDC4T Model) to my .SAV case

4) Add channels and run the transient simulation as shown in this video:- "www.youtube.com/watch?v=reOFXea8SQk"

Thank you so much!
