2020-06-24 16:04:01 -0500 answered a question How to print the sld file neatly, with flow arrows and such ?

I have another question on this topic. I am trying to get voltage contours to print to pdf from my sld however I can't get them to show up, even after saving my sld with the contours. Is there a way to get the contours to appear when printing to pdf? Thanks!

2018-10-25 07:42:08 -0500 asked a question termination message: program has STOPPED

Hi All!

I am encountering an error that stops my program:

Termination message: program has STOPPED DYRE - 3 At time: 2:35

I believe this is due to something with my PSSE API code, but it could be a separate python specific issue. Has anyone run into this message before and know what it is from?

Thanks!

I've used DIFF and there are several buses where there are difference between the actual and original bus voltages. Do you have a suggestion for what to change in model to remedy this?

This error also occurs with any test system that I use regardless of the size of the system, the error happens when between 25% and 50% of the loads are CLMDBLU2. This does not occur when I use other models such as CLODBL.

I have checked with the POM and I am not exceeding any limits as I am using the 200,000 bus size level.

The network does not converge after initialization once the simulation is running during the first time step. This is prior to any fault insertion.

2017-11-21 18:41:08 -0500 asked a question Network does not converge due to large amount of CLMDBLU2 in system

Hi All,

I am using version PSS/E 34.2 to do dynamic simulations. I am including a high amount of CLMDBLU2 load models, and when the percentage of loads with load models that I include in the dynamic file increases above 25% I receive the error that the network does not converge. All my dynamic models have been checked with DOCU, and there aren't any problems. I am unsure of why I am getting the error. Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks!

I found the error causing the NaN, it is from having the load model on the swing bus. No errors when there are no load models on the swing bus.

@perolofl where in the Edit/preferences in PSSE34 can you change the file type from .outx to .out? Thanks!

I have updated to 34.2, and the CMLDxxU2 works great. Thank you!

Thank you this worked. Now the program runs without the error, however now the output in "NaN". I have used DOCU to verify that my load models are tuned correctly. Not sure why having additional load models would cause NaN output.

2017-10-26 17:40:20 -0500 asked a question "System model requires too many VARS" when using large amount of CMLDBLU2 load models

I am using version PSS/E 34.2 to do dynamic simulations of the Poland test system which contains 2000+ buses. I am trying to input the CMLDBLU2 model for every load in the system. When I have greater than approximately 1500 loads with the CMLDBLU2 I get the error: "Return to dynamics terminated--system model requires too many VARS". My system will run successfully when using under 1500 dynamic load models. Then when using greater than 1500 and I get that error and I receive "NaN" in the output results. When loading the dynamic file the output is:

Generator models use: CONS 1- 3924 STATES 1- 1635

Excitation System models use: CONS 3925- 8502 STATES 1636- 2943 VARS 1- 327

What is the cause of this error? And if there a way to work around it?

Thank you!

2017-07-27 18:35:49 -0500 asked a question Dynamic simulation using dynamic load model CMLDBLU1

I am performing dynamic simulations using the dynamic load model CMLDBLU1, composite load model. I can run the system (with all machine models) without problem when I do not include the load model. After I initialize the case with the load model all the voltages go to -1 p.u. Then when I run that system the output is all NaN. I am not sure why the voltages get set to -1, but I believe that is what is causes the NaN output.

The load model:
