Hi,

I am not power system major, and being confused with "induction machine" and other generic machines. Can anyone explain me what is the difference? I am asking this because I was looking for a API that can change the status (in-service or out-of-service) of any machine (maybe except for the one sitting on the swing bus) in a subsystem. I found API called "ImOutage" which is said to change the status of induction machines that are in service, but have been set to "stalled" or "tripped", which is obviously what I am looking for, but close to what I want.

Please kindly advise me.
