cannot edit values in network data spreadsheet

Hi, I am new to PSSE. When I open the .sav file that I have used for load flow analysis previously, some of the values in the spreadsheet are grayed and cannot be edited. Why does it become like this?

I want to find out more on how the file system works, and what could be the best practice when building a model from scratch?

Usually this is because the value being referenced is from another table, where the value is editable. Think primary key verse foreign keys. Foreign key values are grayed because they are primary keys in another table.
