Hello, i've received a .lib file for a user defined model created in PSSE 33. I am using PSSE 34.6 and would like to use the same model library. Do i need to convert it in a .dll file or can i use it ? I precise that i don't have the code used to generate the .lib file.
OBJ or LIB files (compiled Fortran code of models) have to be recompiled into DLL for the PSSE version in which is going to be used.
A UDM model file (*.obj, *.lib, *.dll) for v33 cannot be used for v.34
run the PTI tool "Create User DLL", drag and drop all the *.obj into the box "User Model Object Library FiIes" and then click the icon "compile DLL". For a demo to compile search the forum for "User Defined Models" and download a demo data set for v.33. You have to have a Fortran compiler!
I second the answer from jconto; you will need to revert to whoever created the v33 *.lib file and ask them to use the Fortran source code to create a new *.lib or (even better) a new *.dll file for v34.6.
