Dear everyone,

I have a question regarding the API: TYSL. As we know we need to perform CONG, CONL, ORDR, FACT, TYSL, etc.,prior to running the transient stability program. What makes me confused is what is the purpose of performing TYSL? The help documents said "Use this API to run switching study network solutions", but I still confused.

Thank you all in advance!

Gary

Performing activity TYSL prior to initialising the dynamic simulation is optional, but recommended since it will solve the load flow too a small tolerance giving very small mismatch at all buses. The starting load flow conditions are thereby close to perfect steady state.

I recommend to read Chapter 14.2.3 in Program Operation Gudie, Volume II. You will not learn PSSE by reading the API manual only!!! The API manual only describes how to call the API and is not describing the actual activity.
