One way is to represent a synchronous condenser (SC) with models for a synchronous generator (SG), with generator model, exciter model but no governor model. Set Pgen = 0 in the machine table and parameters for the models from manufacturer data. Be aware that it is not ok to assume that a standard SG of same MVAR output as the SC can be used instead. Compared with a SG, a SC has smaller mass, optimized for MVAR output by design.
