In AC power systems, there is no such definitions as "DC contingency or AC contingency". A contingency is an event (taking a line out, a generator drop, etc) and when applied to a case, its effect can be evaluated by running a loadflow.
The loadflow solution method can be set to "DC solve" or "AC solve". The default solution method is AC, to resolve P & Q (from V & angle), while a DC solution only resolves P from angle. Search the net for "DC powerflow" for more info.
