The information about the inserted fault is not preserved in the snapshot and it gets lost whenever you stop PSSE. After reloading the case and snapshot you can continue the simulation.

The fault is cleared in the "old-fashioned way", just remove the shunt inserted to represent the short circuit. For a bus fault, remove the fixed shunt B-value added at the faulted bus. This is how PSSE was run in the old days, before the present user interface!
