@amin76mf: Thank you for suggestion! I found a simple solution that works for me: Open msconfig (Start, search msconfig) then select "System Configuration". Select the "Boot" tab, then "Advanced Options" button. A new window titled "BOOT Advanced Options" appears. Click to place a check in the "Number of processors" box click the drop-down menu below the box, and select a number. Save and reboot. This will limit the total number of processor/cores available for the system.
